Lead Tax Specialist

Toyoda Gosei North America (headquartered in Troy, MI) has an opening for a Lead Tax Specialist in the Finance/Accounting Department. The Lead Tax Specialist is responsible for providing professional level tax support with a high degree of autonomy, for Toyoda Gosei North America Corporation (TGNA), and TGNA Manufacturing Companies (AMCs).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review book to tax calculations for federal and state income tax returns for outsourced federal tax return
  • Prepare and review local income tax return, property tax returns and information reporting as requested
  • Perform tax research for federal, state and international tax issues as requested for support and tax planning of TGNA and subsidiaries
  • Perform calculations in support of Advance Pricing Agreements and transfer pricing
  • Lead Form 1099 and Form 1042 filing
  • Provide support and oversight of outsourced federal tax provision using ASC 740
  • Continually seek education in new tax developments and issues as laws change
  • Recognize, analyze and resolve tax issues
  • Drive efficiency by actively engaging in continuous improvement efforts
  • Function in a highly collaborative environment where flexibility and teamwork is critical to success

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Minimum of three to five years of tax experience is preferred
  • Bachelor of Accounting or Finance is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required
  • CPA or Master’s degree in Taxation is preferred
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills is required
  • Knowledge of BNA fixed asset accounting is preferred
